Born in Lahore, Ahmad Mukhtar has done his Operational Management from California, United States and a Diploma in Plastic Technology from West Germany. Mukhtar is also a graduate of very famous FC College University. 


He is a businessman who started his political career in 1990 on PPP platform.,

He is the owner of Servis Group (Servis Shoes, Servis Sales Corporation and SerAid Pharmacyand various other businesses.

Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar is a part of Federal Cabinet of Pakistan as Defense Minister. Ch. Ahmad Mukhtar is one of the senior leadership of PPP (Pakistan People’s Party), Asif Ali Zardari, Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, Rehman Malik, Babar Awan, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Aitzaz Ahsan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Makhdum Amin Faheem. He took part in politics in the elections of 1990 and win election of 1993. In 2008 elections, he won a seat of National Assembly, NA-105 (Gujrat-II) against Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain. He is considered as very sincere companion of Benazir Bhutto (Ex. Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party).

His father, Chaudhary Muhammad Hussain was an industrialist. Now, Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar is one of the top successful industrialists/ businessmen of Pakistan.
